I am totally still behind on the picture editing and showing and telling about "What I Did On Summer Vacation".. But I do have something to show..
I am pretty proud about this project.. Since I am a really new knitter.. And this turned out better than I had pictured in my head.. I also want to note.. I wanted to take really great pictures.. Then realized this was as good as it was going to get.. Because .. Well I am having a "fat" day .. I mean .. I know I am fat.. I just like to be delusional about it sometimes and think I look better than I do .. But alas .. Not true and especially not today .. But I couldnt wait any longer to show my sweater.. My design..In real time.. I am proud .. Even though I know its probably the simplest thing ever to do and some one else has probably done something like it some where else.. The point is.. I tried taking those cute little sweaters and making them for me.. And it just looked like I was trying to hard.. So I made something more for my body type.. I think I did ok .. In making something a little more sexy for the bigger girl.. Maybe not.. Maybe I am delusional about that too .. I am sure I will be brought back to reality by my friends.. Cause they will tell me if it sucks .. And I appreciate that .. I would rather be told than to run around thinking I look good when in fact I don t..
anyway .. This was knit on size 15 .. 29" circs.. With a cotton rope type yarn I had in my stash on a cone.. And let me tell you .. I used all I had .. Less about 10 yards.. Talk about cutting it close.. But that is what happens when you fly by the seat of your pants !!
ok .. Enough here it is .. Tell me what you think .. HONESTLY !! I am the human lie detector so dont try to bull shit me ..

yay I'm first...
I like the sweater. I would like it longer than it is, but I like it and I like the way it does the sexy cleavage thing.
You know I always speak the truth and would tell you if it sucked.
Longer though...about 3 or 4 inches
what do you think?

thanks Alekx.. i know you are honest with me.. i am trying to get away from thinking every thing HAS to be long on me .. so I did this length on purpose.. i could see where a longer one would be nice too ..

I like it -- it goes together similar to Klaralund with the sleeves that are extra wide and also make up the bodice/yoke, it looks like?
I like that look on me because it accentuates the chest and makes the waist look narrower... :)
I have a similar build to you and I prefer things that length as opposed to longer than that, so I disagree with Alekx on her point. :)

Hmmmm.... Where do I start? For a first design from a reasonably *new* knitter, I say you rocked the house. The design is uber cute! However, I probably would have thrown in some short rows to give the boobage a little more room to be comfy and not stretch the knit out so much. But, then again, that might have been part of your overall design. The neckline is great... Dips just right to show off cleave, without looking trashy. And then there's the color. You and your green! hehehehee
That being said, it does flatter your shape. I probably would have knit the sleeves with a little less ease since the rest of the sweater has like... none.

amy.. thanks for your honesty.. that is the thing about pictures you cant actually see every thing .. its got some ease thru the body you just dont see it in th epictures.. and as for short rows.. if i even knew how to begin doing them .. i might have tried it LOL .. i like the way it fits and its a really loose knit i wanted it to stretch the way it does.. i kind of like the way you can see thru it.. some people might not like that .. but you k now.. its my sweater LOL .. and yes.. had to be green didnt it ?

I think that your design is great. I love the color and it looks sexy on you. Really, I can't tell that you are a relatively new knitter from the design or execution. That my girlfriend, means two thumbs up in my book.

Honestly?
I dissent - I hate the color.
But - I love the top, the cleavage is totally sexy and I think the empire waist is a great thing for pudgie gals like me... torso inlongation and whatnot.
All in all, I'd die for one in black.

natalie.. thanks for the design kudos! and i know not every one loves this green .. it just happens to by my fave.. if i ha dyour measurements.. i think i might be able to make you one in black ..

You had me chuckling as I read your post about your new sweater! "I just like to be delusional about it...I am sure I will be brought back to reality by my friends...I would rather be told than to run around thinking I look good when in fact I don't..." You sound like me! Thinking I look good when people may actually be laughing at me! :-)
Honestly, you did really well at designing your own sweater. And if you were going for "sexy", you certainly did that! It fits your body type really well, Elizabeth. Now I don't have the nerve to go out showing all my cleavage, but even I would still wear your creation {with a tank top underneath ;-) } I think it's a great design job for us more voluptuous women (as my husband likes to put it).
Great job!

Love it! You certainly can't tell from the pictures that gorgeous sweater was made and created by a newbie knitter! Wow! I agree with everyone else, it looks great on you, very flattering and super sexy!!

I LOVE that green, and when color like that (not red or pink) is combined with sexy outfit, to me it becomes very fresh! I like it that it's kinda see-through, and if I were to wear it, I'd put on a tanktop(maybe black) underneath because 1- I'm shy, and 2- I think the sweater'd still look good with a tanktop underneath. But that's just personal preference. If I saw the sweater at a store or something, I'd definitely buy it.
And really honestly, I think the design is great, and before I read your post further, I thought it was from a book.

short rows are easy and magical! it never ceases to amaze me what they can do...

If I were you, I'd write out the pattern and send it to Knitty or something. It's a good first design, and girls are always looking for bigger designs that are a) sexy and flattering b) don't cater to stick figures.

The top rocks...even me, on my limited fashion knowledge can see it rocks. I love peekaboo boobs....very sexy!
Love the green. Wonder how it would look with a longer back? (I have booty issues)
All in all me likes. I'd wear it!
